Dare to Bare..........?

Mineral make-up has come a long way from just little ads on the TV on QVC to now being readily available at almost every make-up counter.  Most beauty brands will do a mineral version on most of their lines, however I thought I would do a blog dedicated to my favourite make-up, that I never leave the house without.

Leslie Blodgett is the creator of Bare minerals, she actually started the line in 1995, and through a network of customers and word of mouth, it became a number 1 selling brand on QVC by 2001, now thankfully its available not only online, but in debenhams stores, also they now have their own boutiques, the Glasgow one being on the ground floor of Buchanan Galleries.

Their make-up can give you a very flawless, soft lens look, and trust me when I say this can make you feel utterly amazing ;)

It comes in all different ranges;

GET STARTED KIT-£49 from debenhams
This features everything you need for the flawless complexion, plus a 'how to' DVD believe me when I say this is worth every penny!!

More of the range.....

READY WEAR BLUSH-£22
READY WEAR VEIL-£22
DEFINITION MASCARA-£16
CHARMED AND GORGEOUS SET-£24
This make-up will put a smile on your face, and maybe a number in your phone girls ;)
Give it a go, you will look and feel amazing, and look like you don't make an effort (that's the secret)

I won't tell if you won't shhh......

Way-Aye

Ahhh Geordie Shore......

The reality TV Show that has took the UK by storm.  A bunch of lads and lassie's are thrown together in a house in newcastle and given money to party, a job and the cameras follow them.  Well if like me your a wee bit hooked on the show you might appreciate this little post. ;)

An ode to a geordie lass......

Theres a type of girl who lives in the tyne
Who prefers a good jaeger over a glass of wine
She loves her hair extensions and always has her nails done,
Prefers a good bottle of fake bake, to getting a tan in the sun.
She likes looking her best at all times, and having a tache on
Give her a credit card, and she'll be gone
So everybody put your best dress on, and raise your glass
Because a night out wouldnt be complete without a geordie lass

Just a little fun :) ok so the girls on geordie shore always like to look their best, they are famous for their onesies when trying to beat a hangover....

BOHOO-£25.00

Or chilling out in the lounge.....

ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH-£50.00 and £68.00

Of course a night out.....

LIPSY-£60.00 and £55.00

Lastly if like me your favourite character is charlotte, here is a copy (unfotunately they have sold out of the one she bought) of her scarf she wore most of Season Two.......

ACCESSORIZE-£16.00

So ladies, there you have it, the trend of the tyne, now ladies go put on your onesie and shove your geordie shore dvd in (is that just me?)

An ode to an icon......

Would anyone like breakfast?

Audrey Hepburn, a style icon, an amazing actress, and also an ambassador for UNICEF. This woman honoured fashion, the way the British honour tea.  From her Capri trousers, to stunning evening gowns, her vast array of hats, to the undeniable charm of her rain mac.  There was something very elegant about this woman.

Now ladies we all have our 'cant be bothered days', where leggings and a big slouchy jumper offers a surprising amount of comfort.  However there's a little lady in all of us who shines when we dress up, shes elegant, poised and refined.  Loves a glass of champagne with dinner, and who wouldn't dream of going anywhere without her heels on.  I'm sure that Audrey's shoes were Ferragamo, and her handbags by Hermes, however thankfully the high street can offer wonderful versions, for the elegance in us all....

MARKS AND SPENCER Limited Collection-£35.00

MARKS AND SPENCER Limited Collection-£39.50

PRINCIPLES-£79.20

We had breakfast with her at Tiffany's, watched her explore the wonders of Rome, and thought she was 'luverly' in My Fair Lady.

You definitely had Bags of Style Audrey.......

Ahhh coco......

'Elegance is refusal'

Mademoiselle Coco Chanel.....

My favourite designer always has and always will be Chanel, the designs epitomises elegance and refinement.  Coco herself was born in 1883 in Saumur France, and decided after being a seamstress in her teens to give the world her designs in 1910, by opening a boutique with just hats, although just a few years later in 1913 she opened a boutique in Deauville showcasing her designs, for the first time.

It's true we all can't afford the price tag of Chanel, however you can still buy the perfume, the make-up, and they do some fabulous eye-wear.

While your saving up for your first quilted handbag, or that beautiful pearl necklace, pop down to the high street, they do some amazing copies, (or if your like me, when your in London go to Harrods for a long window shop)

She brought elegance, made tweed very fashionable for ladies, her bag is still popular today and as ever she did it while oozing class and style.......

CHANEL NO 5

CHANEL QUILTED SHOULDER BAG

THE PEARLS

CLASSIC CHANEL TWEED

'A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous'-Coco Chanel

Thanks for the style Coco.................

Remember me?

Blast from the past?........

When I recently heard that scrunchies where to be making a comeback, I got reminiscent shivers down my spine from my youth.  I thought to myself when I binned them and grew up I'll never have to see them again?!

However eccentric fashion becomes, nobody ever questions it and they follow the trend, and as a self confessed lover and devoted follower of fashion, I myself have never really questioned it.

Therefore this brings into light a question, was your high school look, or early twenties look really that bad?  From skinny white jeans, to boxy denim jackets, sports luxe, to hair scrunchies.  When we all thought we were looking really cool, where we secretly paving the way for the next generation to copy our look and call it 'on trend'?  Memories are funny things, sometimes when you think you have it completely wrong, its actually right.

Here are some 'wrongs' from my youth..........

I say embrace the fact that the fashion trends from your past are coming back, the only downside is when someone who is 17 who desperately wants to be on trend, comes up to you and says 'how did you wear it in your day?' :-o

Have a lovely day guys.......Always with style
