Remember me?

Blast from the past?........

When I recently heard that scrunchies where to be making a comeback, I got reminiscent shivers down my spine from my youth.  I thought to myself when I binned them and grew up I'll never have to see them again?!

However eccentric fashion becomes, nobody ever questions it and they follow the trend, and as a self confessed lover and devoted follower of fashion, I myself have never really questioned it.

Therefore this brings into light a question, was your high school look, or early twenties look really that bad?  From skinny white jeans, to boxy denim jackets, sports luxe, to hair scrunchies.  When we all thought we were looking really cool, where we secretly paving the way for the next generation to copy our look and call it 'on trend'?  Memories are funny things, sometimes when you think you have it completely wrong, its actually right.

Here are some 'wrongs' from my youth..........

I say embrace the fact that the fashion trends from your past are coming back, the only downside is when someone who is 17 who desperately wants to be on trend, comes up to you and says 'how did you wear it in your day?' :-o

Have a lovely day guys.......Always with style

A size is but a number.......

'Look for the woman in the dress, if there is no woman, there is no dress'-Coco Chanel

Dressing for an event is not just for celebrities, we have all had to do it at some point, whether it was your sweet 16th, your graduation or a friends wedding, that undeniable stress arises......

For a lot of women, having to style theirselves for such an event makes something that is usually fun, very stressful.  It's suddenly not about what you fancy, its about what you need, you have to fight unflattering fitting room lights, unhelpful sales assistants, raking endlessly through a sale rail, in the hope you will get a fabulous designer item at a more high street price, and don't get me started on accessories!

I've recently found through personal experience, that a dress size is but a mere number, simple as that.  If you have to buy a special dress for an important event, or shopping for 'a little bit of what you fancy', buy what suits your body shape.  Whether you are a girl who used to be a size 12 and now needs an 16 or someone who used to be a size 16 but now wears a 24, if you buy for your body shape and take your time perusing the rails, shopping all of a sudden becomes fun again!

Every women is beautiful, period!

I have a 3 day wedding on the horizon and I've had to style myself for all 3 events, I found that once I stopped stressing about my size and relaxed, I found the most gorgeous dresses, and I'm recycling some vintage accessories I have in my wardrobe, as always with style!

For my girls....
Next time you walk into a shop, don't hide behind the rails hoping no-one catches you looking at a bigger size, or don't sit in the corner of a fitting room upset because the size that used to fit you now won't go over your hips.  Smile really wide, hold your head up and enjoy it like it was your 16th on Saturday night!

Remember girls, always with style!
