'Elegance is refusal'
Mademoiselle Coco Chanel.....
My favourite designer always has and always will be Chanel, the designs epitomises elegance and refinement. Coco herself was born in 1883 in Saumur France, and decided after being a seamstress in her teens to give the world her designs in 1910, by opening a boutique with just hats, although just a few years later in 1913 she opened a boutique in Deauville showcasing her designs, for the first time.
It's true we all can't afford the price tag of Chanel, however you can still buy the perfume, the make-up, and they do some fabulous eye-wear.
While your saving up for your first quilted handbag, or that beautiful pearl necklace, pop down to the high street, they do some amazing copies, (or if your like me, when your in London go to Harrods for a long window shop)
She brought elegance, made tweed very fashionable for ladies, her bag is still popular today and as ever she did it while oozing class and style.......
CHANEL NO 5
CHANEL QUILTED SHOULDER BAG
THE PEARLS
CLASSIC CHANEL TWEED
'A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous'-Coco Chanel
Thanks for the style Coco.................

Remember me?
Blast from the past?........
When I recently heard that scrunchies where to be making a comeback, I got reminiscent shivers down my spine from my youth. I thought to myself when I binned them and grew up I'll never have to see them again?!
However eccentric fashion becomes, nobody ever questions it and they follow the trend, and as a self confessed lover and devoted follower of fashion, I myself have never really questioned it.
Therefore this brings into light a question, was your high school look, or early twenties look really that bad? From skinny white jeans, to boxy denim jackets, sports luxe, to hair scrunchies. When we all thought we were looking really cool, where we secretly paving the way for the next generation to copy our look and call it 'on trend'? Memories are funny things, sometimes when you think you have it completely wrong, its actually right.
Here are some 'wrongs' from my youth..........
I say embrace the fact that the fashion trends from your past are coming back, the only downside is when someone who is 17 who desperately wants to be on trend, comes up to you and says 'how did you wear it in your day?' :-o
Have a lovely day guys.......Always with style

A size is but a number.......
'Look for the woman in the dress, if there is no woman, there is no dress'-Coco Chanel
Dressing for an event is not just for celebrities, we have all had to do it at some point, whether it was your sweet 16th, your graduation or a friends wedding, that undeniable stress arises......
For a lot of women, having to style theirselves for such an event makes something that is usually fun, very stressful. It's suddenly not about what you fancy, its about what you need, you have to fight unflattering fitting room lights, unhelpful sales assistants, raking endlessly through a sale rail, in the hope you will get a fabulous designer item at a more high street price, and don't get me started on accessories!
I've recently found through personal experience, that a dress size is but a mere number, simple as that. If you have to buy a special dress for an important event, or shopping for 'a little bit of what you fancy', buy what suits your body shape. Whether you are a girl who used to be a size 12 and now needs an 16 or someone who used to be a size 16 but now wears a 24, if you buy for your body shape and take your time perusing the rails, shopping all of a sudden becomes fun again!
Every women is beautiful, period!
I have a 3 day wedding on the horizon and I've had to style myself for all 3 events, I found that once I stopped stressing about my size and relaxed, I found the most gorgeous dresses, and I'm recycling some vintage accessories I have in my wardrobe, as always with style!
For my girls....
Next time you walk into a shop, don't hide behind the rails hoping no-one catches you looking at a bigger size, or don't sit in the corner of a fitting room upset because the size that used to fit you now won't go over your hips. Smile really wide, hold your head up and enjoy it like it was your 16th on Saturday night!
Remember girls, always with style!

Lets get physical ;)
Exercise.....
Since I'm fully back with my training programme again, thought a little blog on fitness fashion would be appropriate. Whether you enjoy the peace and alone time of running, the energetic game of tennis, or just the health suite itself at the gym, there's something for everyone. Exercise has been around for a long time, from the Jane Fonda videos of the 80's....
To the annoying energy first thing in the morning from Mr Motivator....
Even cavemen were working out, although they favoured running with predators about and all that.
If like me you enjoy looking and feeling good at all times, thanks to company's like Nike, we can look and feel good while we exercise, besides if your clothes are that stylish nobody will recognise the colour of your face from your workout ;)
Here is a few pieces that I think would go very well with whatever form of exercise you enjoy....
TENNIS-Nike £55.00
RUNNING-Nike £22.00
ALL EXERCISE-Nike £40.00
YOGA-Abercrombie & Fitch £50.00
ALL EXERCISE-Abercrombie & Fitch £72.00
Go shopping, then go to the gym, and whether its running, yoga, or any form of exercise remember always with style!

'Your one and only source, into the scandalous world of Manhattans elite......'
The infamous words of gossip girl herself.
Ever had a celebrity style you would love to steal, a celebrity who makes dressing for an event look simple?
All girls have that one female style icon who they aspire to be like, thought I would show you mine.......
Blake Lively
Blake is known for her alter-ego Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl, true that she is dressed for the part on the show and her character has money but Blake epitomises elegance and style even on her days off....
I would love her stylist, hairdresser and money, and maybe I too could have her style...
